It all began in 1930, at the time of the Coffee wiith Milk Republic, where Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais took turns in the presidency. The government of Washington Luís, from São Paulo, completed in 1930 and following the rule, the next president would be from Minas Gerais. However, Washington Luis, after consulting the leaders of the states, decided that Julio Prestes, from São Paulo, was the next candidate, he secured support from 17 of the 20 states. The other three, Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and Paraíba, forming the "Liberal", supporting Vargas. Result: Julio Prestes was elected president with 91% of the votes that would begin his term in 1931. The Liberal Front, dissatisfied, organizes a revolution deposed President Washington Luís and then deliver the power to Vargas in November 1930. Immediately, Getulio Vargas install a dictatorship, disolve the Municipal Councils, State and Members of Congress and the interventionists and names in all states, with exeção of Minas Gerais, reinforcing the conflict with São Paulo. To make matters worse, Júlio Prestes, Washington Luís and other São Paulo supporters were exiled in Europe, Wed newspapers also supported Julio Prestes were closed, and St. Paul suffered a severe crisis. Getulio stakeholders who were not appointed to Sao Paulo, leaving people very unhappy. In an attempt to improve the situation, he named Pedro de Toledo, São Paulo, for the position. Demonstrations against the government of Getúlio are increasing, and the trigger was the death of five students in May 23, 1932, Martins, Miragaia, Drausio, Camargo and Alvarenga. Pedro de Toledo can then appoint a secretary and moves to the side of the people, and from then on classes, corporations, political parties, neighbors, finally rivals, joined in the movement called MMDC, in honor of the dead youth. On July 9, 1932, the revolution begins, joining the Força Pública (current Military Police), some battalions of the Army and Air Force of the interior, and some 200,000 volunteers, 60,000 of whom fought on the front lines. Sao Paulo expect the support of Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Gerais, but that ended up on the other side of the war. Just south of Mato Grosso, called Maracaju, is now the Mato Grosso do Sul, supported the motion. Vargas banned the entry of weapons in Sao Paulo and then several schools and colleges, especially the Polytechnic and the Institute for Technological Research - IPT, started making tanks, guns, armored trains, among others.
Trains have played an important role in Consitucionalist Revolution, and served mainly in the lines and lines of Sorocabana and in the Paraiba Valley (Central and Rede Sul Mineira lines). Noteworthy are the five armored trains manufactured by the IPT and the Rail Guns from the Polytechnic School:

Unfortunately it was almost impossible to Sao Paulo win, as he struggled with 60,000 soldiers, many of them volunteers, against 100,000 professional and well prepared. But itwas worth a try.

Trem do Sertão

Raul Seixas has already said in his song of the Seven Train, "... the train is seven o'clock / It is the last of the Sertão...". The Sertão Train linking Belo Horizonte Monte Azul and then between Monte Azul  Montes Claros until 1996. It is one of Brazil's most famous trains, where he spent the economy moved from the poor region. Served binding of passengers who came from Minas Gerais (through RMV), Rio de Janeiro (through EFCB) and Espírito Santo (through EFVM) for VFFLB (Federal railroad of Eastern Brazilian) to Salvador, and thence to the rest of the Northeast. Even in his last days he lived the train full of passengers, he used the famous cars carbon steel manufactured by Santa Matilde, Cobrasma, and several workshops of RFFSA, blue and white.
Carro Dormitório que operava no Trem do Sertão.
Veja agora o triste vídeo que mostra, realmente, o "último Trem do Sertão":
Now watch the sad video that shows, really, "the last train of the Sertão":
Today the cars of this model of carbon steel, some are preserved (with a 10 ABPF), but the vast majority is abandoned, as is the case of those who formed the Sertão Train:
I hope that one day, with the new generations will come back with passenger trains such as Sertão Train, and others such as Vera Cruz, Santa Cruz, Ouro Verde, MantiqueiraCruzeiro do Sul, R Train, etc. ..

S.O.S. Bitolinha

A realidade é outra, bem diferente.
I - Locomotivas 22, 42 e 58
"There are 12 km ride for a great ecological diversity and landscapes that preserve the architecture of the nineteenth century. The old Estrada de Ferro Oeste de Minas (EFOM) was established in 1881 by Dom Pedro II, opens the way between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest to take tourists on a tour through the mountains of the complex Mantiqueira. thesteam train that links St John del Rey Tiradentes is a rarity, being one of the few steam locomotives in the world still run on 76 cm gauge.This is how the FCA site greets tourists from Oeste de Minas Railroad, with 20 locomotives, 19 steam and 1 electric, and several cars that belonged to the railroad. There you will travel in old cars, wood, pulled by oldsteam locomotives. All well and good.
The reality is quite another. The 20 locomotives are distributed as follows: 4 in metric gauge, 3 steam and 1 electric, are on display at the roundhouse, other 7, the bitolinha, are also on the roundhouse is in a museum, two are on display at the station, 3 are in operation and 2 are scrapped so shameful in the workshops.
I - Locomotives 22, 42 and 58
For starters, the most absurd of bitolinha: the locomotive 58 is since the 1990 dismantled in WORKSHOP TO PROVIDE FOR OTHER PARTS. She is out of approximately 40% of their parts. Until recently, it was the only locomotive in this state. It was because the 22 and 42 were operating, stopped for a "reform" and ended up stayingAre not most of the parts in time, roughly equal to 58. If they continue at this pace, soon they will no longer exist.
II - Locomotivas 41 e 68
A maioria delas, principalmente a 43, FORNECEM PEÇAS PARA AS QUE AINDA RODAM.
II - Locomotives 41 and 68
Are still operating in the tourist train, especially at 41. The problem is the extensive work of locomotives, which along with BAD MAINTENANCE contribute to mechanical problems.The 41 is first on the list to look like the engines of the item I, unable to run. The situation is so serious that in 2007 ALL LOCOMOTIVES BREAK is placed at 62, who was at the roundhouse and did not run to 30 years to pull the train. When the locomotives were agreed, she returned to stand still at the roundhouse. If the locomotive is able to run, why not run?
III - Locomotives 21, 37, 38, 40, 43, 55, 60, 62 and 69
Are not run longer, and the 21 and 60 are on the station platform and the rest at the roundhouse. Most of them, especially the 43 PROVIDE FOR PARTS still running. Others are still intact and can function and turns the tourist train, such as 62, when she pressed the thing is that it was called. Soon some of these locomotives leave the roundhouse and the company will make 22, 42 and 58, because tourists will begin to realize that missing "something".
IV - Relief Car RB-15
The car before giving rescue ASKS HELP NOW. I need not say more, see the pictures:
RB-15 em 1982.
RB-15 atualmente.
VII - A linha
V - Roundhouse, station and other buildings
Sites that would house the locomotives and wagons are putting them at serious risk. The rotunda was rebuilt in 1980, and since then there has never been a more serious reform, which puts her in danger of collapse. But not only the roundhouse, just as most of the buildings need urgent reform, such as the museum, which is with many leaks, damaging the engine 1 (the oldest), the car A-3 and other historical items . The bodywork is still, when you need her service to FCA takes the piece to another company, as was the case the tender of the locomotive 42, which had to be dismantled and taken TRUCK FOR REFORM.
VI - Passenger cars
Those carrying tourists, along with most things in São João Del Rey is in a state concern. With poor maintenance, bad mechanics, many with no brakes, an urgent need of restoration.
VII - The Line
A party that demands more care is surely the line. Currently, she is ROTTEN SLEEPERStrack spending, mud, rocks, etc., which can cause a serious accident.
This just as an example, has more. And to make matters worse, the blog Almanaque da Oeste, which was one of the most denounced the neglect of EFOM was deleted a few days ago. Review, make your protest!
