Talyllyn Railway

File:TalyllynRailwayMap.svg

The Talyllyn Railway (Welsh: Rheilffordd Talyllyn) is a narrow-gauge preservedr ailway in Wales running for 7.25 miles (11.67 km)[1] from Tywyn[a] on the Mid-Wales coast to Nant Gwernol near the village of Abergynolwyn. The line was opened in 1866 to carry slate from the quarries at Bryn Eglwys to Tywyn, and was the first narrow gauge railway in Britain authorised by Act of Parliament to carry passengers using steam haulage. Despite severe under-investment, the line remained open, and in 1951 it became the first railway in the world to be preserved as a heritage railway by volunteers.[5][6]
Since preservation, the railway has operated as a tourist attraction, expanding its rolling stock through acquisition and an engineering programme to build new locomotives and carriages. In 1976, an extension was opened along the former mineral line from Abergynolwyn to the new station at Nant Gwernol. In 2001, the preservation society celebrated its 50th anniversary, and in 2005 a major rebuilding and extension of Tywyn Wharf station took place, including a much-expanded facility for the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum.
The fictional Skarloey Railway, which formed part of the Railway Series of children's books by The Rev. W. Awdry, was based on the Talyllyn Railway. The preservation of the line inspired the Ealing Comedy film The Titfield Thunderbolt.

Locomotiva Cia. Mogiana nº26 no Reino Unido

A while ago I heard of a locomotive CMEF in the UK. After muchsearching, I found a single picture of her. She is on the Brecon Mountain Railway in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, and is being rebuilt. Sois the site of the railroad:
This is an older Baldwin built in Philadelphia in 1898 for the Mogyana Railway in Brazil. Originally 2 foot guage it was converted to 2 foot 6 inches on sale to a Sugar Cane Mill in Northen Brazil, where it worked for many years. It is now converted back to 1' 11 3/4" gauge and the rebuild is well advanced. The next task is to build a new boiler and cab. It is a 2-6-2 tender loco. weighing 41 tons.

Locomotivas Cab Units no Brasil - EE 514A

EE 514A

Locomotivas Cab Units no Brasil - EE RFN

Desenho da locomotiva English Electric
EE RFN
Diesel locomotives English Electric Rede Ferroviária do Nordeste acquired in 1954 to pull trains for general use. The wheelarrangement was chosen the "A1A", due to limitations of axle weight on flights for which these machines were acquired. This sitecan be considered quite unique because its design was veryadvanced - or at least strange - for the molds of time. Also, themanufacturer was very little known on the subject of diesel locomotives. The English Electric was enjoying good reputation in terms of electric locomotives in EFSJ, but nothing was known of thismaker in terms of diesel locos. They were low-poweredlocomotives, overfed, without dynamic brakes, with dual control, diesel engine, 8 cylinders in line, and arrangement of wheels "A1A"- that is, the tricks were 3-axis, with two traction motors on each one, and the central axis served only as a support to reduce the weightper axle.

Sobreviventes
